Giannis Sina Ugo Antetokounmpo, the Greek Freak was born on 6th December 1994 in Athens, Greece. His professional basketball career started in 2013 when he appeared in the NBA draft.

He was the Milwaukee Bucks’ 15th pick and signed a rookie contract with them. Earlier in his career, he played for Filathlitikos in Athens as a youth player, and later in 2011, he was promoted to the senior team.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s senior professional career started with Filathlitikos in Greek B Basket League in 2011 where he scored around 10 points, 1.4 assists, and 5 rebounds per game in 26 games. Later in 2012, he was signed on a 4-year long contract by Zaragoza.

NBA Debut 

After that in 2013, he appeared in the NBA draft for the first time when he was selected in the first round by the Milwaukee Bucks as their 15th pick. In October 2013, he started his first match as a rookie, becoming one of only a handful of players to debut at 18 years old.

NBA 2018/19 season was when Giannis peaked in his career scoring his career-highest 52 points and 16 rebounds against the 76ers. In that season Giannis was also rewarded with MVP of the year. He was also given the role to lead the All-Star team side. 

NBA 19/20 Season

In the 2019/20 season, Giannis won his 2nd consecutive MVP of the year along with the opportunity to lead the All-Star team once again. That year he was also rewarded with an NBA Defensive player of the year award.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has appeared in 9 seasons for Milwaukee Bucks till this date and has incredible stats. He scored an average of 21.8 points, 4.6 assists, and 9.4 rebounds per game in 656 games.
